Hailing from the historic 'En Spois' climat in Arbois, this Vin Jaune is a masterclass in oxidative winemaking. The vineyard, planted in 1971 on heavy, poorly drained Triassic clay soils, imparts a distinct power and deep minerality to the Savagnin grapes. Following traditional methods, the wine is aged for over six years under a naturally occurring veil of yeast, known as 'la voile', in un-topped oak barrels. This slow, deliberate exposure to oxygen coaxes out legendary complexity, marked by notes of walnut, fenugreek, dried fruits, and exotic spices. The wine is bottled in the traditional 62cl Clavelin, the unique bottle shape representing the volume remaining from a full liter of wine after years of evaporation—the legendary 'angels' share'.

Established in 1962 by André and Mireille Tissot and taken over by their son Stéphane alongside his wife Bénédicte in 1990, Domaine Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot is an iconic benchmark of the Jura region, located in the village of Montigny-lès-Arsures near Arbois, France. A relentless pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture, Stéphane transitioned the estate to biodynamics in the early 2000s, championing minimal-intervention cellar techniques and native yeast fermentations to reveal hyper-specific terroirs.
