✨ Technical Specifications

Borgo del Mandorlo Riserva represents the classic expression of Primitivo di Manduria DOC in Apulia, southern Italy. The vineyards benefit from a hot Mediterranean climate with intense sun exposure and red, iron-rich soils clay over limestone bedrock. Named after historic almond groves integrated among ancient vines, the wine is crafted from 100% Primitivo grapes. Harvested at full ripeness, the grapes undergo temperature-controlled maceration followed by extended oak aging, imparting complex notes of dried fruit, sweet spices, and vanilla while preserving the wine's characteristic rich warmth and velvety texture.

🍾 About the Producer

Borgo del Mandorlo is an expressive brand created by Schenk Italian Wines to celebrate the rich viticultural traditions of Puglia in southern Italy. Named after the almond trees that blossom alongside the historic vineyards of the Salento peninsula, the project focuses on capturing the warmth, sun-drenched terroir, and ancient heritage of the region. Through careful selection of sun-ripened grapes and modern vinification techniques alongside traditional appassimento methods, the winery crafts rich, velvety, and fruit-forward wines. Borgo del Mandorlo is particularly celebrated for its concentrated Primitivo di Manduria and Primitivo di Manduria Riserva, which showcase opulent notes of dark cherries, ripe plums, sweet spices, and polished tannins.
