Hailing from the historic Meursault appellation in the Côte de Beaune, 'Les Clous' is a highly prized lieu-dit situated at the very top of the clay-limestone hillside. The name historically derives from 'Clos', reflecting its ancient boundaries. Because of its elevated position and stony, marl-rich soils, this vineyard escapes the heavier, broader style of lower-slope Meursaults, yielding a Chardonnay of exceptional tension, purity, and crystalline minerality. Bouchard Père & Fils vinifies this parcel with meticulous care, utilizing partial aging in French oak barrels to gently round out the wine's natural vivacity while preserving its signature flinty, citrus-driven aromatic profile.

Founded in 1731 by Michel Bouchard, Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s oldest and most revered wine houses, headquartered at the historic 15th-century Château de Beaune.
