While Brokenwood is deeply rooted in the Hunter Valley, their quest for world-class Chardonnay led them to the high-altitude, cool-climate slopes of the Orange region in New South Wales. The Forest Edge Vineyard, situated at an elevation of approximately 800 meters, experiences cool temperatures and rich volcanic soils that are ideal for retaining natural acidity and developing intense varietal characters. This wine represents an elegant departure from warmer climate styles, showcasing bright citrus, stone fruit, and a distinct mineral backbone. Crafted using traditional techniques, including whole-bunch pressing and fermentation in French oak puncheons with wild yeasts, it strikes a harmonious balance between vibrant fruit purity and subtle, integrated oak complexity.
