Sosta Tre Santi represents the pinnacle of Cantine Nicosia's red winemaking, crafted as a tribute to the local heritage of Trecastagni, whose name is historically linked to the 'Three Saints'—Alfio, Filadelfo, and Cirino—who stopped here during their journey. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna, particularly the ancient Monte Gorna crater, this Etna Rosso Riserva is made from Nerello Mascalese. The vines thrive in dark, mineral-rich volcanic sands, experiencing extreme diurnal temperature shifts that impart remarkable elegance and complexity. The wine undergoes long maceration on the skins and is aged for approximately 24 months in French oak barrels, followed by extensive bottle refinement, resulting in a deeply structured red with notes of wild berries, spices, and volcanic minerality.
