Hailing from the prestigious Los Lingues estate nestled at the foot of the Andes Mountains in the Colchagua Valley, Casa Silva's Gran Reserva Petit Verdot is a masterful expression of a grape traditionally relegated to minor blending roles in Bordeaux. In this unique microclimate, characterized by warm days and cooling nocturnal alpine breezes, the late-ripening Petit Verdot achieves perfect phenolic maturity. The Silva family, drawing on over a century of Chilean winemaking heritage, was among the first in the region to showcase this variety as a single-varietal bottling. Viña Casa Silva was founded in 1997 by Mario Pablo Silva and his father, Mario Silva Cifuentes, formalizing a viticultural legacy in the Colchagua Valley initiated in 1892 by French ancestor Emilio Bouchon. Headquartered around historic 19th-century cellars in Angostura, the family oversees estate vineyards spanning diverse terroirs across Chile's Central Valley and coastal cordilleras, notably Angostura, Lolol, and the cool, maritime-influenced Paredones just kilometers from the Pacific Ocean.
