The Adrianna Vineyard, situated at an extreme altitude of almost 5,000 feet in Gualtallary, Tupungato, is widely regarded as South America's Grand Cru. Named after Nicolás Catena's youngest daughter, this legendary site was planted in 1992 during a quest to find cooler climates, defying contemporary beliefs that grapes could not ripen at such heights. The vineyard's terroir is defined by limestone-rich soils, intense mountain sunlight that thickens the grape skins, and cool alpine nights that preserve natural acidity. The resulting Malbec is a profound expression of high-altitude viticulture, characterized by its deep floral aromas, intense dark fruit, distinct mineral chalkiness, and remarkable structural elegance.

Founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena, Bodega Catena Zapata is celebrated as the pioneer that revolutionized modern Argentine winemaking and propelled Malbec onto the international stage. Located in Mendoza, the estate was transformed in the 1980s by third-generation vintner Nicolás Catena Zapata, who boldly advanced high-altitude viticulture along the Andean foothills, highlighted by the iconic Adrianna Vineyard in Gualtallary.
