An intriguing viticultural anomaly, Channing Daughters' Home Farm Vineyard Lagrein brings a piece of Italy's alpine Alto Adige region to the maritime shores of Long Island's South Fork. Planted in the bridgehampton silt loam soils of the estate's Home Farm, this rare planting thrives under the careful, low-intervention stewardship of the winemaking team. Lagrein is celebrated for its deep, ink-like color and vibrant acidity. At Channing Daughters, the grapes are hand-harvested, fermented in small open-top vessels, and aged in seasoned oak barrels to preserve the grape's distinctive wild berry, plum, and forest-floor aromatics, resulting in a red wine of striking individuality and coastal-influenced freshness.
