Channing Daughters has long been at the forefront of experimenting with non-traditional varieties in New York, and their expression of Tocai Friulano (often simply called Friulano) is a testament to this curiosity. Cultivated in well-drained, sandy loam soils under the tempering influence of the Peconic Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, the grapes develop a beautiful balance of crisp acidity and moderate sugars. The wine is typically fermented in stainless steel to preserve its pristine, primary aromatics, resulting in a texturally intriguing white characterized by notes of green pear, bitter almond, wild field flowers, and a signature saline minerality that reflects its maritime heritage.

Founded by Walter Channing with initial vineyard plantings dating back to 1982 in Bridgehampton on Long Island's South Fork, Channing Daughters Winery stands as one of New York's most inventive and boundary-pushing artisanal producers.
