Chartreuse Yellow V.E.P. (Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé) is an extraordinary, ultra-aged expression of the traditional Yellow Chartreuse. First introduced in 1963, this legendary liqueur is crafted by the Carthusian Monks using a secret manuscript dating back to 1605, which calls for a complex blend of 130 different alpine botanicals, plants, and flowers. While the standard Yellow Chartreuse is already highly complex, the V.E.P. designation represents spirits selected for exceptionally prolonged aging in oak foudres. This extended maturation in wood tames the alcohol, allowing the herbal, floral, and honeyed elements to integrate seamlessly. The result is a remarkably smooth, velvety liqueur showing notes of saffron, anise, wild honey, citrus peel, and gentle wood spice, presented in a traditional wax-sealed bottle.
