✨ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the historic cellars of Château de Meursault, which trace their origins back to the 11th century under the Capetian Dukes of Burgundy, the 'Bourgogne du Château' Pinot Noir is a masterful expression of regional terroir. This cuvée is crafted from select estate-owned parcels situated on the clay-limestone slopes of the Côte de Beaune. The grapes are meticulously sorted and destemmed before undergoing fermentation, followed by aging in French oak barrels within the château's legendary 12th-to-18th-century double-vaulted cellars. This traditional process coaxes out a vibrant profile of red berries, subtle forest floor, and elegant spice, embodying the classic, refined style of Burgundian Pinot Noir with a structure that reflects the estate's prestigious heritage.
🍾 About the Producer
With origins tracing back to the eleventh century and historical cellars excavated beneath its sprawling estate, Château de Meursault represents one of the largest and most storied domaines in the Côte de Beaune. Acquired in 2012 by Olivier Halley and managed by Stéphane Follin-Arbelet, the estate spans roughly 65 hectares over more than one hundred distinct parcels across Aloxe-Corton, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Beaune, Volnay, Pommard, Meursault, and Puligny-Montrachet. Viticulture is strictly organic, achieving full certification across its climats with the 2022 vintage. Terroirs feature varied Jurassic limestone and clay marls on east- and southeast-facing slopes, farmed with an emphasis on biodiversity and living soils. Vinification balances Burgundian tradition with cutting-edge, low-carbon geothermal infrastructure, employing optical berry sorting, precise temperature-regulated fermentation, and measured French oak maturation. The domaine's benchmark whites include the flagship monopole Clos du Château, Premier Cru Charmes, and Premier Cru Perrières, accompanied by elegant Côte de Beaune reds and rare bottlings like Pinot Beurot.
