✨ Technical Specifications

Sourced from old-vine parcels rooted deeply in Kimmeridgian limestone marl laden with fossilized Exogyra virgula shells, this Premier Cru reflects the concentrated, low-yield character of mature root systems along the Serein River valley. Vinification prioritizes linear focus and purity, primarily utilizing temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with a small portion aged in seasoned neutral French oak barrels to build texture without imparting heavy toast. Fine lees contact lends mid-palate volume, balancing the hallmark mineral cut, iodine notes, and crystalline citrus profile quintessential to northern Burgundian Chardonnay.

🍾 About the Producer

Closerie des Alisiers is the flagship négoce label created by Stéphane Brocard, scion of the celebrated Chablis vigneron Jean-Marc Brocard. Establishing his independent boutique négociant house in 2007, Brocard departed from the family estate to develop an artisanal range uniting northern Burgundy precision with select appellations across the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, and the Mâconnais. Rather than mass-market sourcing, Brocard maintains multi-year partnerships with independent growers, predominantly favoring sustainable and certified organic viticultural methods. Rooted in classic Kimmeridgian marl, limestone scree, and clay soils across northern and central Burgundy, the wines are vinified with minimal intervention, restrained oak usage—rarely exceeding twenty percent new wood—and an unyielding emphasis on tension, site transparency, and pure orchard fruit. Benchmark bottlings include his Chablis Premier Cru Vieilles Vignes, Petit Chablis Cuvée Les Cailloux du Serein, Chablis 1er Cru Montmains, and regional vieilles vignes expressions, all underscoring a crystalline, mineral-driven Burgundian character.
