Compass Box Canvas is an imaginative limited-edition blended malt Scotch whisky that showcases the blending house's artistic spirit. The centerpiece of this expression is the influence of experimental aging: a portion of the blend was finished in casks that previously held Spanish Vino de Naranja (orange wine from Andalusia), which infuses the spirit with a vibrant, citrusy brightness. This is married with single malts from distilleries such as Glen Elgin, Balmenach, and Miltonduff, aged in first-fill Bourbon barrels and re-charred American oak. The name 'Canvas' represents the blank slate of blending, where whiskies are treated as brushstrokes of flavor, resulting in a profile rich with notes of marmalade, forest honey, and baking spices.

Established in 2000 by visionary blender John Glaser, Compass Box is an independent boutique Scotch whiskymaking house dedicated to reimagining the traditions of blending. Operating out of its blending studio in Richmond, London, with warehouse maturation bases in Scotland, the firm approaches Scotch with the exacting philosophy of an artisan winemaker. Rather than relying on standard industrial recipes, Compass Box sources premier malt and grain distillates across Scotland, aging them in bespoke cooperage using toasted virgin French and American oak to highlight distinct structural and aromatic elements. Known for its staunch campaign for radical transparency, Compass Box crafts expressive, non-chill-filtered bottlings free of artificial coloring.
