Inspired by the word 'vellichor'—the nostalgic, evocative scent of old bookstores, dusty leather-bound volumes, and yellowing paper—this limited-edition blended Scotch whisky from Compass Box is a liquid love letter to the passage of time. To capture this unique sensory atmosphere, the blending team sourced exceptionally rare, mature whiskies that had slept for decades in oak. The blend features sherry-cask matured single malts from Macallan and Highland Park, combined with a whisper of smoky Caol Ila and deeply aged grain whiskies from Port Dundas. The result is a complex, meditative dram redolent of antique wood, leather, dried figs, and soft, fading peat smoke, embodying the artistic and transparent blending philosophy that defines Compass Box.
