To capture this unique sensory atmosphere, the blending team sourced exceptionally rare, mature whiskies that had slept for decades in oak. The blend features sherry-cask matured single malts from Macallan and Highland Park, combined with a whisper of smoky Caol Ila and deeply aged grain whiskies from Port Dundas. The result is a complex, meditative dram redolent of antique wood, leather, dried figs, and soft, fading peat smoke, embodying the artistic and transparent blending philosophy that defines Compass Box.

Established in 2000 by visionary blender John Glaser, Compass Box is an independent boutique Scotch whiskymaking house dedicated to reimagining the traditions of blending. Operating out of its blending studio in Richmond, London, with warehouse maturation bases in Scotland, the firm approaches Scotch with the exacting philosophy of an artisan winemaker. Rather than relying on standard industrial recipes, Compass Box sources premier malt and grain distillates across Scotland, aging them in bespoke cooperage using toasted virgin French and American oak to highlight distinct structural and aromatic elements.
