Steeped in Chilean wine folklore, the Casillero del Diablo line owes its name to a clever ruse by founder Don Melchor de Concha y Toro, who spread the rumor that the devil himself guarded his private cellar to deter thieves. This Reserva Carmenere showcases Chile's signature grape, which was famously rediscovered in Chilean vineyards in 1994 after being thought extinct in Bordeaux. Sourced from the sun-drenched vineyards of the Central Valley, the wine undergoes careful fermentation followed by brief aging in American oak barrels. The result is a smooth, medium-bodied red characterized by lush dark fruit flavors, subtle notes of black pepper, and chocolate, wrapped in supple tannins.
