First launched in 1976, the Marques de Casa Concha line was created to honor the hereditary title of nobility bestowed upon the winery's founder, Melchor de Santiago Concha y Toro, in 1718 by King Philip V of Spain. This Cabernet Sauvignon is a benchmark Chilean red, sourced primarily from the stony, alluvial soils of the Puente Alto and Pirque vineyards in the Maipo Valley, nestled at the foot of the Andes Mountains. The cold mountain breezes descending from the Andes create a significant diurnal temperature swing, preserving acidity while allowing the grapes to develop deep concentration and refined tannins. Traditionally aged for over a year in French oak barrels, this wine is celebrated for its classic profile of dark cassis, black cherry, graphite, and a signature touch of Chilean eucalyptus.
