The Marques de Casa Concha label, debuted in 1976, pays homage to the noble title bestowed upon the founder of Concha y Toro, Melchor de Santiago Concha y Toro, in 1718. This Carmenere is sourced primarily from the legendary Peumo Vineyard in the Cachapoal Valley, a sub-region of Chile's Central Valley. Peumo's deep, clay-retaining soils and gentle river breezes create an ideal microclimate that allows the late-ripening Carmenere grape to mature slowly, shedding its aggressive green notes while retaining vibrant acidity. The wine undergoes careful aging in French oak barrels, resulting in a classic Chilean expression that balances dark fruit, black pepper, and subtle sweet spice with a velvety texture.
