Concha y Toro's Xplorador line is crafted as a tribute to the adventurous spirit of the explorers who mapped Chile's diverse wine regions. Sourced from the expansive Central Valley, this wine showcases Carmenere, Chile's signature grape which was famously rediscovered in the mid-1990s after being mistaken for Merlot for decades. The Mediterranean climate of the valley, with its warm days and cool nights, allows the grape to ripen slowly and fully develop its characteristic profile. Vinified primarily in stainless steel with light oak contact, this expression is designed to be fruit-forward, approachable, and smooth, highlighting the grape's natural dark fruit flavors and signature hints of bell pepper and black pepper.

Founded in 1883 by Don Melchor de Santiago Concha y Toro and his wife, Emiliana Subercaseaux, Viña Concha y Toro is Chile's most historic and globally recognized winery, headquartered in the picturesque commune of Pirque within the Maipo Valley. Under the stewardship of the Guilisasti family since the mid-20th century, the estate has expanded its reach across Chile's premier terroirs, from the coastal breezes of Casablanca to the warm, clay-rich soils of Peumo in the Cachapoal Valley. The winery is celebrated for its pioneering spirit and commitment to sustainability, producing world-class wines that showcase the diverse microclimates of Chile. Their portfolio is anchored by iconic expressions such as the critically acclaimed Carmín de Peumo Carmenere, the terroir-driven Terrunyo line, and the legendary, globally beloved Casillero del Diablo range.
