✨ Technical Specifications
Concha y Toro's Xplorador range is crafted as an invitation to discover the diverse terroirs of Chile's Central Valley. The Xplorador Chardonnay represents an approachable, fresh, and fruit-forward expression of the variety. Sourced from selected vineyards across the Central Valley, the grapes benefit from a Mediterranean climate characterized by warm, sunny days and cool nights influenced by the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. To preserve its vibrant fruit character, the wine is typically fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, avoiding heavy oak influence. This results in a bright, clean wine showcasing classic notes of tropical fruits, green apple, and citrus, backed by a refreshing acidity that captures the youthful spirit of Chilean winemaking.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1883 by Don Melchor de Concha y Toro and his wife Emiliana Subercaseaux, Viña Concha y Toro is Chile's preeminent wine producer and a cornerstone of South American winemaking history. Headquartered in Pirque within the historic Maipo Valley, the estate originated with noble French cuttings sourced directly from Bordeaux, laying the groundwork for a portfolio that now spans Chile's finest valleys from Limarí to Peumo. Concha y Toro pairs cutting-edge viticultural science with meticulous stewardship, crafting wines that reflect the diverse microclimates and soils of the Central Valley, Aconcagua, and southern regions. The winery is universally celebrated for benchmark red varietals—most notably expressive Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère—exemplified in prestige cuvées such as Carmín de Peumo, the Terrunyo series, and the enduring Marques de Casa Concha label.
