✨ Technical Specifications
Delas Frères' Condrieu 'Clos Boucher' comes from an exceptional, historic vineyard site bordering the famous Château-Grillet. Perched on dizzyingly steep, south-facing granite terraces overlooking the Rhône River, this vineyard benefits from an ideal microclimate that coaxes maximum aromatic complexity from the finicky Viognier grape. The soils, composed of decomposed granite and mica locally known as 'arzelle', impart a distinct mineral tension to the wine. Delas vinifies this cuvée with meticulous care, utilizing temperature-controlled barrel fermentation and aging on fine lees with regular stirring to develop its signature opulent texture, exotic fruit aromas, and delicate floral notes of violet and apricot.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1835 by Charles Audibert and Philippe Delas, Maison Delas Frères is an iconic Rhône Valley estate headquartered in Tain-l'Hermitage. Now part of the Champagne Louis Roederer family of estates, the house underwent a major quality renaissance through modern cellar innovations and meticulous vineyard stewardship across both the Northern and Southern Rhône. Delas manages prestigious parcels across heralded appellations including Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Renowned for its precision winemaking, the estate crafts deeply expressive, terroir-driven wines, from powerful, mineral-tinged Syrahs like Les Bessards and La Landonne to aromatic, textural Viogniers like Clos Boucher.
