✨ Technical Specifications
La Tâche is one of the world's most legendary Grand Cru vineyards, held as a monopole by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Spanning just over six hectares in the heart of Vosne-Romanée, its history is rich with intrigue, notably the 1932 legal decision that officially integrated the finest parts of the adjacent Les Gaudichots vineyard into La Tâche. The name itself, meaning 'the task,' evokes the medieval tradition of paying vineyard laborers by the specific plot or chore completed. Renowned for its extraordinary consistency across vintages, La Tâche is celebrated for its dramatic intensity, offering a kaleidoscope of dark fruits, exotic spices, and forest floor. It is crafted entirely from Pinot Noir, farmed biodynamically, and aged in 100% new French oak casks to create a wine of unparalleled structure, velvety texture, and aristocratic longevity.
🍾 About the Producer
With a lineage tracing back to the Benedictine monks of Saint-Vivant and later immortalized by the Prince de Conti in the 18th century, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti stands as the pinnacle of fine winemaking. Situated in the celebrated village of Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, the estate is co-owned by the de Villaine and Leroy/Roch families. Farming exclusively through rigorous biodynamic practices with low yields and meticulous whole-cluster vinification, the domaine seeks total transparency of terroir. It produces some of the world's most coveted and profound Grand Cru Pinot Noir wines, headlined by the legendary monopoles Romanée-Conti and La Tâche alongside storied climats like Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, and Échezeaux.
