✨ Technical Specifications

The 2017 Romanée-Conti Grand Cru emerges from the legendary 1.81-hectare monopole that has defined Burgundian excellence for centuries. Following the devastating frosts of 2016, the 2017 growing season brought a welcome return to normalcy, characterized by a warm spring and a sun-drenched summer that allowed the Pinot Noir grapes to achieve perfect phenolic ripeness with remarkable balance. Grown on the vineyard's iconic brown limestone and clay soils, the fruit was harvested by hand and vinified using traditional whole-cluster fermentation. The wine was then aged in 100% new French oak barrels. The 2017 vintage is celebrated for its ethereal, floral bouquet, silky texture, and an astonishingly long, mineral-driven finish that captures the pure, aristocratic essence of this sacred parcel.

🍾 About the Producer

With a lineage tracing back to the Benedictine monks of Saint-Vivant and later immortalized by the Prince de Conti in the 18th century, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti stands as the pinnacle of fine winemaking. Situated in the celebrated village of Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, the estate is co-owned by the de Villaine and Leroy/Roch families. Farming exclusively through rigorous biodynamic practices with low yields and meticulous whole-cluster vinification, the domaine seeks total transparency of terroir. It produces some of the world's most coveted and profound Grand Cru Pinot Noir wines, headlined by the legendary monopoles Romanée-Conti and La Tâche alongside storied climats like Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, and Échezeaux.
