The crown jewel of Burgundy, Romanée-Conti is a legendary 1.81-hectare monopole vineyard whose history is steeped in aristocratic rivalry. In 1760, a fierce bidding war erupted for this prized parcel between Louis François de Bourbon, the Prince of Conti, and Madame de Pompadour, the mistress of King Louis XV. The Prince emerged victorious, keeping the entire production for his personal consumption and cementing the vineyard's mythical status. Today, this sacred ground produces a Pinot Noir of unparalleled complexity and ethereal elegance. The vines, averaging over 50 years of age, are cultivated biodynamically, with the soil plowed by horse to prevent compaction. In the cellar, traditional whole-cluster fermentation is utilized, followed by aging in 100% new French oak barrels. The resulting wine is renowned for its hauntingly complex bouquet of rose petals, Asian spices, and forest floor, combined with an aristocratic structure and an incredibly long finish.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti regnes for den ypperste reference inden for stor vinkunst med en historie, der trækker tråde tilbage til benediktinermunkene i Saint-Vivant og i det 18. århundrede blev foreviget af Prinsen af Conti. Ejendommen ligger i den berømte landsby Vosne-Romanée i Bourgognes Côte de Nuits og ejes i fællesskab af familierne de Villaine og Leroy/Roch.
