✨ Technical Specifications

Domaine Zind Humbrecht's Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives is a monumental expression of Alsace's late-harvest winemaking tradition. Sourced from prestigious, low-yielding Grand Cru vineyards such as Hengst and Goldert, where limestone-rich soils impart a profound structural backbone, this wine is only produced in exceptional years when autumn conditions allow for the development of noble rot (Botrytis cinerea). The grapes are harvested by hand in successive passes to select only the most concentrated, overripe berries. In the cellar, Olivier Humbrecht MW employs extremely slow, natural fermentations in ancient oak foudres, allowing the wine to develop its signature complexity. The result is a luscious, deeply aromatic masterpiece defined by notes of exotic lychee, wild rose, ginger, and honeyed spice, balanced by a vibrant, terroir-driven acidity.

🍾 About the Producer

Domaine Zind Humbrecht was established in 1959 through the merger of two historic Alsatian winemaking families whose viticultural heritage dates back to 1620. Located in Turckheim in the heart of Alsace, the estate gained international renown under the stewardship of Léonard Humbrecht and subsequently his son Olivier Humbrecht, France's first Master of Wine. A pioneer in organic and biodynamic viticulture, the domaine strictly crafts terroir-driven white wines with minimal intervention from legendary Grand Cru and lieu-dit sites such as Rangen de Thann, Clos Windsbuhl, and Hengst. They are celebrated globally for their extraordinarily concentrated, mineral-rich expressions of Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer, ranging from impeccably balanced dry wines to opulent Vendanges Tardives and Sélection de Grains Nobles.
