Sourced from the warm, gravelly alluvial soils of the valley floor in Turckheim, this Gewurztraminer is a masterful expression of one of Alsace's most flamboyant noble grapes. Domaine Zind Humbrecht utilizes biodynamic farming and slow, natural fermentations to capture the intense, exotic character of the terroir. The gravelly soils of Turckheim heat up quickly, allowing the Gewurztraminer grapes to achieve optimal phenolic ripeness, resulting in a wine of immense aromatic complexity, rich texture, and a characteristic touch of spice, without losing its essential sense of place.
🍾 About the Producer
Domaine Zind Humbrecht was established in 1959 through the merger of two historic Alsatian winemaking families whose viticultural heritage dates back to 1620. Located in Turckheim in the heart of Alsace, the estate gained international renown under the stewardship of Léonard Humbrecht and subsequently his son Olivier Humbrecht, France's first Master of Wine. A pioneer in organic and biodynamic viticulture, the domaine strictly crafts terroir-driven white wines with minimal intervention from legendary Grand Cru and lieu-dit sites such as Rangen de Thann, Clos Windsbuhl, and Hengst. They are celebrated globally for their extraordinarily concentrated, mineral-rich expressions of Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer, ranging from impeccably balanced dry wines to opulent Vendanges Tardives and Sélection de Grains Nobles.
