Hailing from the wind-swept Sta. Rita Hills AVA in Santa Barbara County, the Lindsay's Vineyard Pinot Noir is a deeply personal bottling for Dominion Tantara, named after co-founder Bill Cates' daughter, Lindsay. This prized vineyard benefits from the region's unique transverse mountain valleys, which draw cool marine fog and chilly Pacific breezes directly across the vines. This natural air conditioning slows grape ripening, allowing for the development of complex phenolics and vibrant acidity. Grown in calcium-rich, diatomaceous soils, the grapes are crafted using traditional Burgundian methods, including gentle open-top fermentation and aging in select French oak barrels. The result is an elegant, structured Pinot Noir that beautifully balances rich dark fruit flavors with earthy undertones and a distinct mineral spine, capturing the wild, coastal essence of its terroir.
