The 'Aguijón de Abeja' (Sting of the Bee) range was conceived by the Durigutti brothers as a tribute to the tireless, cooperative work of the honeybee, whose pollination is vital to the vineyard's ecosystem. While the brothers are famous for their Mendoza roots, this 'Reina' (Queen) bottling ventures south to the cold, wind-swept plains of Patagonia. Here, the extreme climate, marked by intense winds, abundant sunshine, and cold nights, coaxes a remarkably distinct personality from the Malbec grape. Unlike its richer, more muscular Mendoza cousins, this Patagonian expression is defined by its elegance, vibrant acidity, and intense floral aromatics. The winemaking focuses on preserving this cool-climate purity, utilizing gentle extraction and careful aging to deliver a wine of tension, bright red fruit, and refined structure.

Durigutti Family Winemakers was established in 2002 by winemaking brothers Héctor and Pablo Durigutti, who sought to champion Argentina's heritage terroirs through precise, artisanal winemaking. Their viticultural base centers on Finca Victoria in Las Compuertas, a historic high-altitude appellation within Luján de Cuyo perched above 1,000 meters along the Mendoza River. Here, ancient alluvial soils rich in silt, gravel, and limestone combine with intense Andean sunshine and marked diurnal shifts, creating optimal conditions for certified organic viticulture. Rejecting heavy-handed intervention, the Durigutti brothers emphasize spontaneous native yeast fermentations, concrete vats, ceramic amphorae, and judicious oak aging to preserve varietal clarity and site transparency.
