The Le Gallais estate, acquired by the legendary Egon Müller family in 1954, is inextricably linked to the steep, south-facing slopes of the Wiltinger Braune Kupp vineyard in the Saar valley of the Mosel. Unlike the grey slate of Scharzhofberg, the Braune Kupp is defined by iron-rich, reddish-brown clay and slate soils, which impart a distinctively rich, spicy, and exotic character to the Riesling. This Beerenauslese (BA) is a rare masterpiece of nature, crafted only in exceptional vintages when noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) shrivels the grapes to concentrated nectar. Hand-harvested berry by berry with obsessive precision, the wine is fermented in traditional old oak Fuder casks. It represents the pinnacle of Saar winemaking, marrying intense, honeyed sweetness with a vibrant, electric acidity that keeps the wine incredibly fresh and alive.
