Egon Müller’s Scharzhofberger Riesling Auslese is the stuff of vinous legend, crafted from 100% Riesling grapes grown on steep, south-facing slopes of weathered grey slate. The estate's history dates back to the medieval Benedictine monks of St. Paul in Trier, but it has been in the hands of the Müller family since 1797. The 'Nr' designations typically denote highly exclusive, small-batch auction bottlings of exceptional selection. This Auslese is defined by its perfect noble rot (botrytis), balancing intense, honeyed sweetness with a breathtaking, laser-like acidity that ensures the wine never feels heavy.
