Egon Müller’s Scharzhofberger Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) represents the absolute pinnacle of sweet winemaking, born from one of the wine world's most hallowed terroirs. Located in the chilly Saar valley of the Mosel region, the legendary Scharzhofberg vineyard features steep, south-facing slopes rich in grey and red Devonian slate, including prized parcels of centenarian, ungrafted Riesling vines. The estate's history is deeply intertwined with monastic heritage, having been cultivated by the Benedictine monks of St. Paulin before the Müller family acquired the estate in 1797. This TBA is produced only in exceptional vintages when noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) develops perfectly. Each berry is painstakingly hand-selected, resulting in a nectar of unimaginable concentration, vibrant acidity, and profound mineral tension. Released exclusively through the prestigious VDP Trier Wine Auction, this rare bottling is a monument to patience, heritage, and the sublime potential of Riesling.

Established in 1797 when the Müller family acquired the historic estate, Weingut Egon Müller-Scharzhof is located in Wiltingen within the Saar sub-region of the Mosel, Germany. Today, the estate is meticulously managed by Egon Müller IV, who continues a multi-generational legacy of producing some of the world's most coveted and long-lived white wines. The winery is legendary for its peerless Rieslings sourced from the steep, slate-rich slopes of the iconic Scharzhofberg vineyard, as well as the Wiltinger Braune Kupp site under the Le Gallais label. Emphasizing traditional, low-intervention cellar practices and old, ungrafted vines, Egon Müller crafts exceptionally precise, mineral-driven, and exquisitely balanced Rieslings ranging from crisp QbA to legendary, auction-grade Auslese and Trockenbeerenauslese expressions.
