Sourced from organically farmed vineyards in the Central Valley, this wine is crafted to capture the vibrant, unadulterated essence of the grape. The vines thrive in a Mediterranean climate where warm, sunny days are tempered by cool evening breezes, allowing the Merlot grapes to ripen slowly and develop rich, expressive flavors while retaining balanced acidity. In the cellar, the focus is on minimal intervention to preserve the bright, primary fruit characteristics of dark plums, cherries, and subtle herbal undertones. Founded in 1986 by the Guilisasti family, Emiliana has grown to become the world's leading producer of organic and biodynamic wines. In the late 1990s, visionary director Rafael Guilisasti partnered with renowned consulting winemaker Álvaro Espinoza to pioneer ecological viticulture across Chile's most prestigious wine regions, including the Casablanca, Maipo, Colchagua, and Cachapoal Valleys. Guided by Demeter-certified biodynamic farming principles, Emiliana eliminates synthetic inputs in favor of natural preparations and native biodiversity to authentically reflect terroir. The estate is widely celebrated for its flagship biodynamic red blends, notably Coyam and Gê, as well as expressive single-vineyard expressions of Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.
