The Max range from Viña Errázuriz honors the estate's pioneering founder, Don Maximiano Errázuriz. Sourced primarily from the estate's Max vineyards in the Aconcagua Valley, this Carmenere showcases the grape's affinity for the region's unique terroir. The valley's warm sunny days are tempered by cool evening breezes sweeping down from the Andes and inward from the Pacific Ocean. This dramatic diurnal temperature shift allows the late-ripening Carmenere to slowly develop its characteristic flavors of black plum, roasted red pepper, and sweet spices while retaining fresh acidity. The wine is aged for approximately 12 months in French oak barrels, adding subtle notes of clove, chocolate, and soft, rounded tannins to its elegant structure.
