Finca Las Cerrilladas represents Familia Zuccardi's deep exploration into the extreme, high-altitude terroir of Gualtallary in the Tupungato region of the Uco Valley. Situated at an elevation of approximately 1,360 meters, this unique vineyard is defined by its rugged topography of small hills, or 'cerrilladas,' from which it takes its name. The soils here are highly complex, featuring alluvial gravels heavily coated with calcium carbonate, which imparts a distinct chalky, mineral texture to the wine. Under the direction of Sebastián Zuccardi, the winemaking philosophy for this single-vineyard bottling emphasizes minimal intervention. Fermented and aged in concrete vessels without the masking influence of heavy oak, the wine showcases the electric tension, vibrant wild-berry fruit, and intense floral aromatics typical of Gualtallary's cold nights and intense mountain sunlight. It stands as a testament to the family's quest to bottle the pure, untamed voice of Mendoza's most extreme mountain soils.
