✨ Technical Specifications
Regarded as one of the world's greatest white wines, the Chateau de Beaucastel Roussanne Vieilles Vignes is a monument to the Roussanne grape. Sourced from a tiny, prized three-hectare parcel of ancient vines—some of which were planted in 1909—this cuvée is a rare expression of pure Roussanne. The vines thrive on the classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir of marine limestone and clay covered by 'galets roulés' (rounded stones), which absorb the intense Mediterranean sun by day and warm the soil by night. Fermented partly in oak barrels and partly in tank, this wine is celebrated for its opulent texture, striking minerality, and complex aromatic profile of honey, beeswax, and stone fruits. It represents a masterclass in white Rhone winemaking, showcasing how a single varietal can achieve unparalleled depth and longevity.
🍾 About the Producer
Famille Perrin is one of the Southern Rhône Valley's most esteemed winemaking dynasties, famously anchored by the historic Château de Beaucastel estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Guided by generations of the Perrin family, the domaine became a pioneering champion of organic farming in 1950 and biodynamic viticulture in 1974 under the visionary stewardship of Jacques Perrin. Their winemaking philosophy centers on authentic terroir expression, biodiversity, and the preservation of artisanal blending traditions, famously utilizing all thirteen permitted Châteauneuf-du-Pape grape varieties with an emphasis on Mourvèdre. Today, Famille Perrin crafts a prestigious and multifaceted portfolio ranging from the legendary, age-worthy Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin to quintessential expressions of Gigondas, Cairanne, and classic Côtes du Rhône.
