In the sun-drenched landscape of the Southern Rhône, the Perrin family has long been synonymous with terroir-driven excellence. While this specific cuvée highlights a distinct geological narrative, it speaks directly to the family's deep connection with the unique soils of the region. 'Safre'—the compacted, ancient Miocene sand found in select pockets of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, and neighboring appellations—is highly prized by the Perrins. Unlike the heavy clays or heat-retaining galets roulés, these sandy terraces allow grapevines, particularly Grenache, to develop deep root systems, yielding wines of remarkable elegance, fine-grained tannins, and vibrant red-fruit aromatics. In keeping with the Famille Perrin philosophy, these hand-harvested grapes are gently vinified and aged in large oak foudres, preserving the fresh, spicy, and garrigue-scented soul of the Southern Rhône.

Famille Perrin is one of the Southern Rhône Valley's most esteemed winemaking dynasties, famously anchored by the historic Château de Beaucastel estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Guided by generations of the Perrin family, the domaine became a pioneering champion of organic farming in 1950 and biodynamic viticulture in 1974 under the visionary stewardship of Jacques Perrin. Their winemaking philosophy centers on authentic terroir expression, biodiversity, and the preservation of artisanal blending traditions, famously utilizing all thirteen permitted Châteauneuf-du-Pape grape varieties with an emphasis on Mourvèdre.
