Hailing from the historic Baglio Soria estate in the rolling hills of the Trapani countryside, Firriato's Altavilla della Corte Rosso is a noble expression of Cabernet Sauvignon adapted to the sun-drenched Sicilian terroir. The name 'Altavilla' pays tribute to the historic Hauteville (Altavilla) dynasty, the Norman rulers who shaped Sicily's medieval golden age. In this unique maritime-influenced microclimate, the clay-rich soils retain vital moisture through the hot Mediterranean summers, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and develop rich, concentrated flavors. Vinified in stainless steel and aged gently in oak, this wine beautifully marries the structured elegance of the international variety with the warm, herbaceous, and balsamic nuances characteristic of western Sicily.

Firriato blev grundlagt i 1984 af Salvatore Di Gaetano og hans hustru Vinizia Novara og regnes i dag blandt Siciliens førende vinproducenter med stor anerkendelse for deres rolle i øens vinøse renæssance. Vingården råder over bemærkelsesværdigt varierede terroirs på tværs af Sicilien – fra Trapani-landskabets solbeskinnede vinmarker og øen Favignanas maritime klima til Etnas højtbeliggende, vulkanske skråninger.
