The name 'Altavilla' pays tribute to the historic Hauteville (Altavilla) dynasty, the Norman rulers who shaped Sicily's medieval golden age. In this unique maritime-influenced microclimate, the clay-rich soils retain vital moisture through the hot Mediterranean summers, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and develop rich, concentrated flavors.
