Fr d ric Cossard's 'Qvevris' Red represents a captivating dialogue between Burgundian terroir and ancient Georgian winemaking heritage. Sourced from organically farmed Pinot Noir vines, this cuv e is fermented and aged in traditional clay qvevris—amphorae buried in the ground, a vessel design dating back over 8,000 years. Cossard, a legendary figure in the natural wine movement, utilizes these clay vessels to allow the Pinot Noir to undergo a slow, natural maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeasts, completely free of added sulfur. The porous nature of the clay provides gentle micro-oxygenation, resulting in a wine of remarkable purity, vibrant red fruit character, and a unique, earthy texture that bridges the gap between ancient history and modern natural winemaking philosophy.
