Crafted by the historic house of Freixenet, whose roots in the Penedès region of Catalonia date back to 1861, the Blanc de Blancs Semi Seco is a vibrant celebration of Spanish sparkling heritage. Born from the marriage of Pedro Ferrer and Dolores Sala Vivé, Freixenet survived the devastating phylloxera plague by pivoting to the traditional method of sparkling winemaking. This Blanc de Blancs cuvée highlights the classic Cava trinity of Macabeo, Xarel·lo, and Parellada, often enhanced with Chardonnay to elevate its elegance. Grown in sun-drenched, limestone-rich soils under the Mediterranean breeze, the grapes undergo secondary fermentation in the bottle.
