✨ wine.spec_sheet

G.H. Mumm's Grand Cordon NV represents a historic legacy dating back to 1827, famously symbolized by the iconic red sash—the Cordon Rouge—originally inspired by the French Legion of Honour. This non-vintage cuvée is a masterclass in Pinot Noir dominance, which constitutes about 45% of the blend, lending structure, power, and rich red fruit notes. Chardonnay (around 30%) brings freshness and elegance, while Pinot Meunier (around 25%) adds roundness and fruit-forward charm. Sourced from over 100 different crus, the blend incorporates a significant proportion of reserve wines to ensure consistency and depth. The wine is aged for up to 30 months on its lees in the house's historic chalk cellars under Reims, resulting in a vibrant Champagne characterized by aromas of white peach, apricot, and toasted brioche, presented in a revolutionary bottle designed by Ross Lovegrove where the red ribbon is carved directly into the glass.
