Château de Buffavent, located in the rolling hills of Denicé within the Beaujolais region, is a historic estate dating back to the 16th century, easily recognized by its striking, traditional glazed-tile roof. Under the curation of the legendary Georges Duboeuf, this estate's wine has become a benchmark for the region's classic style. Crafted from 100% Gamay grapes grown on a mix of clay, limestone, and granite soils, the wine undergoes traditional semi-carbonic maceration. This technique coaxes out vibrant aromas of fresh red berries, wild strawberries, and a touch of black pepper, resulting in a juicy, approachable red wine with soft tannins and a refreshing finish that beautifully expresses the joyful spirit of Beaujolais.

Founded in 1964 by the visionary Georges Duboeuf in Romanèche-Thorins, Les Vins Georges Duboeuf is credited with popularizing Beaujolais wines, particularly Beaujolais Nouveau, on a global scale. The family-owned merchant house works closely with local growers to showcase the diverse terroirs of the region, from the vibrant, fruit-forward Gamay of the Beaujolais AOC to the structured, age-worthy Cru expressions of Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent. Their portfolio includes celebrated estate partnerships such as Jean Descombes and Clos des Quatre Vents, alongside varietal wines from the Pays d'Oc and Rhône. Today, the estate continues to champion the expressive, approachable, and elegant red wines of eastern France under the guidance of the Duboeuf family.
