Hailing from the historic Juliénas Cru in Beaujolais, Château des Poupets is a classic representation of the region's robust and structured side. The Juliénas appellation itself carries a legendary heritage, named in honor of Julius Caesar, with vine cultivation dating back to Roman times. Crafted from 100% Gamay grapes, this wine benefits from the estate's south-facing slopes, where the vines dig deep into soils rich in granite, clay, and schist. Under the curation of the legendary Georges Duboeuf, the winemaking employs traditional semi-carbonic maceration to preserve vibrant fruit expression while extracting the deep color and spicy complexity characteristic of Juliénas. The result is a fleshy, deeply aromatic red boasting notes of ripe red berries, violets, and a touch of wild spice.
