G rard Bertrand, a charismatic champion of the South of France and former rugby star, has dedicated his life to showcasing the diverse terroirs of the Languedoc. The R serve Sp ciale Pinot Noir represents a brilliant adaptation of a cool-climate grape to the Mediterranean landscape. Bertrand sources these grapes from the cooler, high-altitude foothills of the Pyrenees in the Haute Vall e de l'Aude. Here, the dramatic diurnal temperature shifts and clay-limestone soils allow the delicate Pinot Noir to ripen slowly, retaining its vital acidity and signature red-fruit aromatics. The wine is crafted using traditional maceration, with a portion aged in French oak barrels to add subtle structure and spice, while the remainder rests in stainless steel to preserve its vibrant fruit character.
