Nestled in the rugged, volcanic landscape of the Terrasses du Larzac in Languedoc, Ch"teau de la Sauvageonne derives its name from the wild, untamed nature of its surrounding scrubland and rocky cliffs. Acquired by visionary winemaker G&rard Bertrand, this historic estate benefit from a unique microclimate where high-altitude vineyards experience dramatic diurnal temperature shifts. The Sauvageonne Blanc is a masterfully crafted blend typically composed of Grenache Blanc, Vermentino, Roussanne, and Viognier, farmed using biodynamic principles. The grapes are hand-harvested and partially fermented and aged in French oak barrels with regular lees stirring (b"tonnage). This meticulous process marries the rich, exotic fruit and floral notes of the Languedoc sun with a striking, salty minerality born from the ancient volcanic soils.

Vinhuset Gérard Bertrand blev grundlagt i 1992 af den tidligere professionelle rugbyspiller af samme navn. Med udgangspunkt i familiens rødder på Domaine de Villemajou har huset udviklet sig til et globalt pejlemærke for den sydfranske region Languedoc-Roussillon. Hovedsædet ligger på Château l'Hospitalet i kystappellationen La Clape, hvorfra Gérard Bertrand går forrest med biodynamisk vinavl på tværs af hundredvis af hektar førsteklasses vinmarker. Gennem et kompromisløst fokus på biodiversitet, bæredygtighed og terroirets renhed skaber huset en alsidig portefølje af både stille vine, mousserende vine og hedvine. Vingården nyder international anerkendelse for ambitiøse prestigecuvéer som Cigalus, Clos d'Ora og Château l'Hospitalet samt for sine elegante tørre rosévine, udtryksfulde enkeltdruevine og historiske Vins Doux Naturels.
