Released in 2012 to commemorate 125 years since founder William Grant first ran spirit from the copper stills on Christmas Day in 1887, the Glenfiddich 125th Anniversary Edition is a liquid monument to Speyside history. Malt Master Brian Kinsman crafted this unique expression to replicate the historical style of Glenfiddich's early days. Unlike the distillery's modern, fruit-forward unpeated style, this release incorporates a unusually high proportion of peated malt, mirroring the 19th-century Speyside practice of using local peat for kilning due to coal scarcity. Matured in a combination of Spanish Sherry butts and American oak bourbon casks, it delivers a complex marriage of rich dried fruits, vanilla, and oak spices, all enveloped in a gentle, warming cloak of peat smoke that harks back to the Victorian era.

Founded in 1886 by William Grant and constructed by hand with the help of his family, Glenfiddich Distillery is situated in the heart of Dufftown in Scotland's renowned Speyside region. Still independently owned by William Grant & Sons, the distillery made history in 1963 by pioneering the international single malt Scotch whisky category beyond traditional blended scotch. Glenfiddich crafts its spirits using the pristine waters of the nearby Robbie Dhu springs, distilling through distinctive copper pot stills and maintaining its own on-site cooperage to oversee maturation in premium American and European oak casks.
