✨ Technical Specifications
Established in 1886 by William Grant in the heart of Speyside, Glenfiddich remains one of the few family-owned single malt distilleries in Scotland. The Excellence 26 Year Old is a rare and luxurious expression that pays tribute to this heritage. Matured exclusively in select ex-bourbon American oak casks for over a quarter of a century, this single malt absorbs the deep, rich characters of the wood. The pristine Robbie Dhu spring water and the distillery's uniquely shaped copper pot stills, identical to those used since its founding, impart a signature fruity and floral character. This long maturation results in an incredibly complex spirit, bursting with notes of intense vanilla, caramelized brown sugar, toasted oak, and delicate spices, representing the pinnacle of Speyside craftsmanship.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1886 by William Grant alongside his nine children, Glenfiddich stands as one of Scotland's most historically significant and enduringly independent, family-owned distilleries. Situated in Dufftown within the heart of Speyside, the distillery draws its pure, mineral-soft process water exclusively from the Robbie Dhu springs, which flow through nearby peatlands and quartz terrain. Distillation is conducted in unusually small, distinctively shaped copper pot stills, meticulously replicated down to the exact curvature of the original late-nineteenth-century vessels to preserve high ester formation. Glenfiddich was instrumental in pioneering the modern global market for single malt Scotch in the 1960s. Today, under the guidance of Malt Master Brian Kinsman, the distillery is distinguished by its on-site cooperage and Solera vat system, crafting an iconic house profile marked by fresh orchard pear, delicate white blossom, subtle oak spice, and dried fruit complexity exemplified in releases like the 21 Year Old Gran Reserva Caribbean rum cask finish and the Rare Collection.
