Glenfiddich Project XX is the second release in the distillery's pioneering Experimental Series, born from a clandestine collaboration. Malt Master Brian Kinsman invited twenty whisky experts from sixteen countries to explore the historic Conval warehouses in Speyside. Each expert was tasked with selecting a single cask that spoke to their palate—ranging from sweet port pipes and rich sherry casks to robust virgin oak. Kinsman then masterfully married these twenty distinct liquid profiles into a singular, complex expression. The result is a tribute to collective expertise, showcasing a deep golden hue with aromas of classic Speyside pear, toasted oak, creamy vanilla, and a hint of spice. This innovative spirit bridges traditional craftsmanship with modern experimentation, capturing the adventurous spirit of the William Grant & Sons legacy.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1886 by William Grant alongside his nine children, Glenfiddich stands as one of Scotland's most historically significant and enduringly independent, family-owned distilleries. Situated in Dufftown within the heart of Speyside, the distillery draws its pure, mineral-soft process water exclusively from the Robbie Dhu springs, which flow through nearby peatlands and quartz terrain. Distillation is conducted in unusually small, distinctively shaped copper pot stills, meticulously replicated down to the exact curvature of the original late-nineteenth-century vessels to preserve high ester formation. Glenfiddich was instrumental in pioneering the modern global market for single malt Scotch in the 1960s. Today, under the guidance of Malt Master Brian Kinsman, the distillery is distinguished by its on-site cooperage and Solera vat system, crafting an iconic house profile marked by fresh orchard pear, delicate white blossom, subtle oak spice, and dried fruit complexity exemplified in releases like the 21 Year Old Gran Reserva Caribbean rum cask finish and the Rare Collection.
