✨ Technical Specifications
Deep in the heart of Speyside, Scotland, lies the historic Glenfiddich distillery—the 'Valley of the Deer'—founded by William Grant in 1886. The Glenfiddich 40 Year Old Single Malt is an extraordinary monument to Scotch whisky craftsmanship. This rare liquid is crafted using a unique 'rematting' process, where the Malt Master hand-selects exceptional casks, including seasoned Oloroso sherry and American oak, to marry with remnants of the previous 40-year-old batch. This continuous thread of liquid history yields a whisky of unparalleled depth. Nourished by the pristine Robbie Dhu spring waters and distilled in Glenfiddich's signature small copper pot stills, this expression delivers a rich tapestry of dark chocolate, dried fruits, roasted coffee, and faint peat smoke, representing the pinnacle of Speyside elegance.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1886 by William Grant and constructed by hand with the help of his family, Glenfiddich Distillery is situated in the heart of Dufftown in Scotland's renowned Speyside region. Still independently owned by William Grant & Sons, the distillery made history in 1963 by pioneering the international single malt Scotch whisky category beyond traditional blended scotch. Glenfiddich crafts its spirits using the pristine waters of the nearby Robbie Dhu springs, distilling through distinctive copper pot stills and maintaining its own on-site cooperage to oversee maturation in premium American and European oak casks. Renowned worldwide for its iconic triangular bottle, the distillery produces an acclaimed spectrum of single malts characterized by signature orchard-fruit aromas, crisp green pear, delicate floral notes, and remarkable depth in its rare vintage releases.
