Weingut Gunderloch, established in 1890, is one of the premier producers in the Rheinhessen, famed for its plots on the steep, red slate vineyards of the Roter Hang near Nackenheim and Nierstein. The Nierstein Riesling trocken is an Ortswein (village-level wine) that showcases the dynamic, iron-rich Rotliegend slate soils of Nierstein. Harvested selectively by hand, the grapes undergo cool fermentation in stainless steel and neutral oak casks to preserve pristine fruit tension and underlying flinty minerality. The result is an energetic, dry Riesling that balances vibrant stone fruit with a distinct smoky, slate-driven backbone.

Founded in 1890 by banker Carl Gunderloch, Weingut Gunderloch is an esteemed estate located in Nackenheim along the Rhine in Germany's Rheinhessen region.
